Circus Noir
horror show
Written by Andras Vinnai and Péter Kalmár
2012 – …
Murderers, victims, intrigue and deceit.
Blood, lipstick, cigarette smoke and green absinthe.
A black suitcase and a bloody knife, rope, arsenic and a Smith & Wesson.
A Borsalino pulled up to the eyebrows and an old Remington,
and a Ronson lighter - which rarely catches fire...
In the circus these days, it's no longer the clown and the nice seal who entertain
but a horror-revue Mrs. Lédererné, Pista Pista,
the Tin Man Killer of Cinkota, and the rest.
But when night falls, the moon rises, in the same circus
they entertain the privileged rich with secret and dark gladiator games.
At night, the public can see real executions; no longer artistes,
but real killers who kill their victims and die
in front of the audience...
The system is simple: just connect the people who want to kill and die.
And these clandestine events are about to be legalised
by the ringmaster of the circus, the evil mastermind of the New World Order.
Our hero is a former painter, numbed by life, now a documenter, not a photographer, capturing for posterity the filth, blood and misery... One grey weekday, however, a beautiful redheaded woman comes to him, who gives him a strange commission; first he has himself photographed in a corpse pose, then she wants him to kill her... And that's just the beginning.
