Closing Hours
- bar musical -

lyrics by János Bródy
The last pub in Pest is about to close - it will be replaced by a Chinese fast-food restaurant.
And there, a bar pianist is rarely needed.
The last bar pianist in Pest plays his farewell song for the last time:
Just give me one more minute, God,
To see clearly what has happened to me,
What your plan was and where I went wrong,
Why did you stand by me and why did you leave me?
Fortunately, in the Pest night, true life begins after closing time... ...where a young man, who is none other than the old man of the old pianist, but he searches in vain for the Beverly Hills swimming pool and Playboy bunnies - he can't find them.
...where a young American girl of Hungarian descent arrives,
to find her roots, and when she finally does,
she doesn't want any, so she goes back instea
...where, among the many unpaid bills, a registration form falls out
for a bar pianist competition with a prize of 10 million forints,
otherwise known as the last chance.
...where an old love is rekindled but can no longer be fulfilled.
...where an old comrade turns out not to have been - but to be.
...where nothing is what it seems,
but in the end, everything turns upside down,
like the bar stools when closing time comes.
